Zelda and Fritz

Zelda and Fritz, 2017, Acrylic on Canvas, 9 x 12”

FUN FACT

Male wreathed hornbills can be identified by their yellow throat area while the females’ are blue.

This painting was created en plein air during Art Gone Wild (2017) at Zoo Atlanta. It features a male and female pair of wreathed hornbills. The male was particularly vocal during my time painting them and I noticed them to be most active in the mornings.
