Suhana, 2018, Acrylic on Canvas, 16” Round •
FUN FACT
Clouded leopards have great vision and pupils unlike any other cat—they are oblong-shaped!
This painting was created en plein air during Art Gone Wild (2018) at Zoo Atlanta. As may be evident by my portfolio, I regularly enjoy painting animals at the zoo, however, this was the first time I was able to capture Suhana, the resident Clouded Leopard. She is extremely elusive and shy so it was a treat when I was able to study the details of her spotted face. Her eyes, especially, were captivating.
