This painting was created en plein air during Art Gone Wild (2018) at Zoo Atlanta. Aptly named, it features a Victoria Crowned Pigeon. I was inspired by the bird’s plumage and ornate crest reminiscent of a royal headdress. I chose an oval surface as a subtle play on a Cameo pin.
