Budi is an orangutan rescued from the illegal pet trade in December 2014. He could not move and was confined to a chicken cage when the International Animal Rescue (IAR) found him. Inspired by his story and transformation, I created this painting as an homage to his strength and a symbol of hope. Limited edition prints of the artwork were sold with half of the proceeds donated to IAR to support Budi’s care.
